Passionate, skilled and innovative people make up the NTGPE staff.

We offer training and support services to GP registrars, GP supervisors and training posts. To do this, our people are skilled in medical education, management, administration, finance, counselling and well being, marketing and communications, events management, human resource management and information technology.

There are around 45 full-time staff and 15 casual medical educators and assessors.

Bio:

Originally from Sydney, Emma is now a GP based in Darwin. She has a clinical interest in women’s health, paediatrics and Aboriginal health. She is passionate about helping registrars develop their communication skills to facilitate the provision of high quality, patient-centred care.

Current role:

Emma is a medical educator involved in video ECTVs, ECTVs and workshop delivery.

Dr Emma Kennedy is a practicing general practitioner and has made a major contribution to medical education in the Northern Territory. Emma has lectured for the Northern Territory Clinical School, Flinders University and Sydney University. Emma has held medical educator positions with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and Northern Territory General Practice Education.

Hubert is a member of the lead medical educator team at NTGPE and is heavily involved in GP supervisor training and professional development. He also works in accreditation and training post capacity development and training. Hubert is responsible for SLO and ECTV support.

Senior Medical Educator
Senior Medical Educator based in QLD

Jan has a background in procedural obstetrics, rural general practice, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and is interested in Balint work. She is a Senior Medical Educator with NTGPE and has a particular interest in teaching the skills needed to make our clinical communication overt and intentional, to improve both patient care and professional satisfaction.

Registrar Liaison Officer
Jeffrey helps support and represent NTGPE registrars in his role as RLO

Jeffrey grew up in Malaysia before moving to Australia to complete his medical school in Newcastle University. He then moved to the NT to start RACGP training with the NTGPE and is now working at Danila Dilba as a GPT 3 registrar. Prior to GP training, he spent time as a Psychiatry registrar and also spent time in Medical Administration running a healthcare tech company. He is a big nerd, enjoys anything IT related and wishes to be able to merge both IT and medicine together in a way that benefits our health.

Dr Jo Wright began in Remote Health with the Northern Territory Department of Health in 1990, and has extensive experience in primary health care service delivery, management, reform, evaluation and teaching. He has been a contributing editor to several editions of the CARPA Standard Treatment Manual. Jo is now the Director of Activity Based Funding, being responsible for the implementation of the hospital funding side of the national health reforms in the Northern Territory.

Senior Medical Educator
Integrative learning program design and delivery

Dr Kishan Pandithage is a senior medical educator at NTGPE providing effective, innovative educational programs for GP supervisors and general practice registrars (GPRs). He has a special interest in supporting international medical graduates (IMGs). In addition, he is a Senior Lecturer at Flinders University, NT Clinical School.

In 2010 he was recognised as the Post Graduate Council Medical Educator of the year and in 2018 he was awarded the RACGP Standing Strong Together award for guiding Indigenous registrars through the fellowship.
