Following our GP Registrar Orientation story last week, NTGPE also recently hosted our 2022 Foundation Supervisor Workshop, again delivered in an online format due to increasing COVID numbers.
In total, we had 24 NT GPs participating from across the NT, including Alice Springs/Central Australia (3), Barkly region (3), Darwin (7), East Arnhem (5), and Katherine/Big Rivers region (4).
The participants were a great mix of past supervision experience – from past registrars to new NT supervisors and some longer-term NT GPs adding supervision to their skill set. One even joined from a flooded in remote community!
The session was aimed at new GP Supervisors, with topics covered including:
- Introduction to Supervision
- Formal In-practice teaching
- NTGPE updates
- Informal Teaching – in-consultation teaching
- Registrar feedback and Assessment.
Presenters included NTGPE Medical Educators Dr Jan Hanson and Dr Jenny Davis.
