Road:
The road from Alice Springs is both sealed and unsealed. The last 190 km are dirt. Kaltukatjarra is situated in the Petermann Ranges in the far southwestern corner of the NT, 7 kms east of the WA border.

Seasonal Access:
Subject to washaways during heavy rainfall, particularly where it crosses the natural depressions and minor waterways.

Health Centre Info
Kaltukatjarra Community has a Health Service called Docker River. It is THS controlled. The Health Service is in the Central Region. Communities covered by the Kaltukatjarra Health Service are listed under outstations. Visits are not on a regular basis.

The Clinic is permanent and has 7 rooms. The facilities are adequate.
The Health centre has 1 vehicle allocated to the Health Centre. There is a 4wd Troop Carrier, which has a stretcher and oxygen.

The first choice of evacuation is by air from Kaltukatjarra and the second option is by air from Warrakuna, which is one hour’s drive from Kaltukatjarra. Patient Assisted Travel PATS is available to patients.
