Close the Gap: Funding to support cultural training of doctors working in remote NT
With the number of training General Practitioners in the Northern Territory continuing to increase, almost $2million dollars of additional funding has been allocated to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health training to doctors working in the Northern Territory.
Dr Brett Dale, CEO of Northern Territory General Practice Education (NTGPE) says the funding will be allocated to support General Practice Registrars and prevocational doctors working in remote regions of the Northern Territory. The funding aims to create capacity to support the much needed increased number of doctors working in Aboriginal Communities.
